From long-lost relatives and life-saving heroes to romantic reunions and emotional homecomings , the life-affirming stories play out against the backdrop of the hotel ’ s plush lounges , busy restaurants and landscaped parks . When the guests check out , one thing is certain – this is one hotel stay they will never forget .

Saved by a Stranger reveals unique personal accounts of some of the biggest headline moments that have shaped a nation and its people , such as the 7 / 7 terrorist attacks , the AIDS crisis , the Holocaust and the Bosnian War . Each contributor is on a journey to find someone significant from this time who they have lost touch with , combining their personal emotional journey with historical learning and investigative research . The series celebrates moments of kindness and humanity in some of our most challenging times and concludes with emotional reunions .
