Safari – Swahili
Kenya is the pioneer country of Safaris; its variety of sceneries makes it a marvelous
destination for a Safari. For no more than 100 years, Kenya´s wild life has been attracting
tourists from all over the world. In the beginning they were hunters that adopted the word
Swahili for a long trip and the desire to hunt in the African mountains. After the post-war, this
began to change and the photographic Safaris began with the preservation of the national parks.
Today Safaris are a trip that has to be planned, because everything has changed, from
lodging to food and facilities.
Agriculture
This sector is the second in importance when we talk about the economy in Kenya. It is
divided between flowers, tea, coffee (very well positioned in foreign markets, due to its high
quality).
Another important product, especially for its internal consumption, is corn. The climate
has always been very fluctuant and on several occasions has devastated agriculture, forcing them
to receive international help for food.
Unfortunately, Kenya has not been able to make the necessary investments to guarantee
the security of income through agriculture, but it has still been significant and additionally, it
generates employment.
Climate
The climate is controlled by two large factors. One is the factor known as the zone of
inter-tropical convergence, that produces 2 seasons marked by rain and winds that blow in
specific directions and varied ranges and altitudes, from the mountains and to different points
during the year. The complete mass confronts the winds that move in the direction of the Indic
Ocean and drains them.
