17 Invite the boys and girls to have a brainstorm about everything they think that relates to each one of the elements. Invite them to classify and then reflect on how they are connected. Elaborate ideas about the relationship of the elements and how they affect us, or if we affect them with our actions. Tool to Foster thinking: Generate/Classify/Connect/Elaborate routine. Air: • Do an activity with the children using hair dryers, cotton balls and feathers. Show the materials and ask: What do you think we are going to do? What happens if…? Let them propose the hypothesis. If they don’t do it, give them time later to imagine it, suggest one by modeling how we get to that idea. We propose the line of inquiry be: “what will happen when they are in contact with the air from the hair dryer? Which one do you think will go farthest, the feathers or the cotton? What makes you say that? Which one will go faster? Etc. Have races between the cottons and the feathers
