“I Spy” Game”
This activity begins in the classroom where the teachers, as “detectives” model positive
language and behavior with the students. (e.g., the
morning routine of group work; the children are
gathered on the rug carefully listening to their
teacher´s instructions, the teacher takes out a
detective magnifying glass and thanks the children
for showing respect.)
The activity continues between the students,
who also become detectives; they spy and recognize
behaviors among their classmates. Once they have understood the purpose of the game, the
teacher daily assigns detectives for specific topics.
Weekly you chose one of the children who takes home a bag called “I spy” with the
detective´s magnifying glass that will be used to play
with mom and dad at home.
During the weekend, the children spy on their
parents on Saturday and on Sundays the children spy
on their children.
The family must document the experience
with the game.
This project is presented by the boy or girl in front of his/her classmates in the activity
called “Show Me and Tell Me”.
With this spy game, we are reinforcing the concepts in a fun and positive way, and above all, we
are projecting the culture of thinking both at home and in the community.
