How things work
As we mentioned previously, the
topic of the month serves as a provocation
for the students to carefully observe the
objects, persons, nature and other things that
are found around them.
Everything that
surrounds us plays a role; from electronic
devices
to
interpersonal
relationships.
Students are linked directly with this topic
because since their very early ages they are
exposed to different experiences and endless
objects that they can benefit from.
Just as with the topics presented during other months, “How Things Work” is, once again, a
starting point toward different focuses: Where do we come from? How does the human body work?
How do interpersonal relationships work? How do we communicate? How do these means of
communication work?
Teachers are invited to start creating a great network connecting with previously presented
topics. Each one of these topics serves as a new provocation that invites both teachers and students to
inquire, reflect upon, scan, ask, innovate, express, describe, and more; all these mind habits that are
developed in the students along their pre-school experience. Also, through the projects suggested in
Modules 3 & 4, the teachers will have the opportunity to incorporate the different areas for
development in an exciting, interesting, and fun way; this will allow the students to integrate and
further identify with the projects so that they can find a sense of why and what for, and how it all
connects to them in one way or another.
