Symbolic Capability
To strengthen this capability it is important to create different experiences for the students. Through
the use of provocations suggested previously, significant projects such as those mentioned in Modules
3& 4, and previous experiences that they bring themselves, they will be able to use all this information
and represent it in a spontaneous way.
To be able to represent the information spontaneously, it is important that:
The student find diverse connections;
Give value and sense to each project and activity developed.
That the teacher´s find purpose, sense, and value so as to be able to transmit it to the students.
Suggested Thought Routines:
All thought routines
Keys for thought
Conceptual maps
Autonomous capability
The use of the keys for thought is a powerful tool used to develop the capability to be autonomous.
This tool will make the process of asking and inquiring in depth something easier; in this case for the
topic of the month “How Things Work”. With the keys and through modeling the language for
thought, we will be able to achieve questionings such as: “what is it good for, where does it come
from, how can we transform it, what does it look like, and more. It is important to highlight that the
keys for thought can be easily incorporated into different routines for thought, and not necessarily be
used separately.
This month we make emphasis without limiting ourselves to the “Function key”
