Animal Kingdom
In Module 3 we introduced the theme of the month, its value, and how is it related to the
VESS curriculum. While reading the headline “Animal Kingdom” many people may think that
all the projects will be related to and limited to animals and where they live. This module
intends to go way beyond that. Animals are a crucial component in our natural environment.
Some animals are part of the cycle of nutrients through our ecosystem; while others are
important because they allow other species to survive.
In addition, animals are part of a country´s culture and many times these cultures are
represented by them. Learning about the animal kingdom can also help use become more
sensitive to other creatures while at the same time understanding their importance and role in our
life.
This theme also provides an opportunity to be aware of the different forms of
communication.
