How did the band first come together? What is the back story?
I had just started out as a singer/songwriter and ended up meeting Mad through a mutual friend. I
fancied trying the band aspect, and auditioned for his old band. We just hit it off. I didn’t
continue with this band, but we still continued to jam. I later met Aly at a birthday party in the
pub, we got to talking about music, and he was in between bands. He asked me to sing for him
and said he was into it. I later showed him my acoustic material, the three us got together, added
the new instruments, and the rest is history.
So, Scotland is really a hot bed of new music right now. If you had to describe the Scottish
music scene to someone coming to visit your country, what would you say?
I would say it’s absolutely fantastic. Scotland has a lot of great talent and a great variation of
acts. If you have a preference you'll find it, and if you’re looking for something new it’s around
every corner.
Bright Eyes was the first song I heard by you. I loved it. Immediately, without hesitation,
loved it. So, what's the story behind it?
The story of the song is taken from a story from my own life that I feel can people can relate to.
