You also created a video and short film to accompany songs on the album. Are you still
heavily involved in the production of your videos today?
Yea I am. I've been lucky enough to collaborate with some really talented people on videos over
the years. Oli Lansley, who's a theatre director and playwright, had a hand in loads of them.
Conor Masterson has been involved in the last couple. We've had Emilia Fox in 'Stuck Under
September.’ Huey Morgan from Fun Lovin' Criminals was in 'Sunburn.' We had an incredible
dancer called Sean in the 'Into the Deep' video, 360 immersive videos, fan made charity videos, I
think my attitude towards them is based on never wanting to do a standard music video by
numbers y'know.
Your second album, Skeletons, Wow. I really love that one. It's so haunting, and the lyrics
really shine through. It's so different from your earlier work. I'm curious, what prompted
such a change, musically speaking?
Skeletons was a break up record. I was actually half way through making a different album &
skeletons just took over. It poured out of me over a fortnight, it kind of wrote itself. I kept
waking up in the night with these songs in my head.
