Conor: I started playing drums at 12 years old and then picked up guitar at 14.
Johnny: I started playing 8 years ago, but I've probably on and off played for about 4 years of
that.
Dylan: I’ve played for 11 years.
Alasdair: A long, long time. My dad and a lot of my family play instruments, so I've picked up
that from them. I can play 5 different instruments.
So quite by accident, when I was doing research for this article I chose three of my favorite
bands in Scotland right now; You, Silvercoast and Lawless and the Leash. Turns out you
all know each other. Is that pretty typical of the music scene in Scotland?
Especially in small towns, playing local shows you find yourself playing alongside the same
bands. It’s not a bad thing because it’s always fun and you make some good friends, but it also
means it’s hard to expand out from that.
You play a lot of gigs across Scotland, Where would you most like to play?
Soma, San Diego. Warp Tour. We want to venture out of the UK and over to the states if we can.
There’s such an amazing Pop-Punk scene over there!
