It’s very important to look out for our planet and for that it’s essential to save energy on a daily basis. Although many people don’t think like this, each and everyone of us plays an important role on the energy saving at a global scale. If some simple gestures are frequently made they can have a strong impact on our lives some years from now. Our future is in our hands

and our mission is to teach the future generations how to deal with our planet without damaging it.

Today we’re going to teach you how to reduce your ecological footprint.

The ecological footprint is a measure of human activities’ impact on the

ecosystems, and it measures the amount of the environment necessary to produce the goods and services necessary to support a particular lifestyle.

There are so many simple ways and gestures that you, as an individual, can do to reduce your own footprint. At home or outside, all your actions count. These are just some of them:

What can you do to reduce your footprint?

Whenever it's possible, take a walk or ride a bike to go to the place you want. If you need to go somewhere further choose to use public transportation (subway, bus, train…);

Check your car's air filter monthly. This way you will avoid that toxic gases are released;

At home, change your old and regular bulbs for fluorescent ones, you can be sure that it will reduce not just the energy you consume daily but also the bill on the end of the month;

Make sure you pick energy efficient appliances;

Change your appliances for new ones that are classified with A+ or A++ labels;

Choose green electricity. Install solar panels and use that as a heat source to warm up your daily water;

Recycle all your paper, glass, aluminum, and plastic;

Eat more local, organic, in-season foods;

Unplugg you electronic devices when they aren't being used. Even when turned off, most of our electronic appliances spend energy;

And most importantly SPREAD THE WORD!!

What is the ecological footprint?

Planet in danger!
