Here ’ s a look at just a few of the special homes you can see in Cleburne .
Green Victorian Smith House 415 N . Anglin St .
This home was built in 1895 by F . M . Bisbee , the local general superintendent of tracks for the Santa Fe Railroad . He sold the house one year later to Pat Cleburne Chambers , the son of B . J . Chambers , “ The Father of Cleburne .”
The exterior is ornamented with leaded and stained glass windows . The house is built on a cut stone foundation . A large round Richardson Turret on the northeast corner of the home shelters a circular parlor with 12-foot Lincrusta and Anaglypita original ceilings and wall coverings . The house features four beautiful fireplaces , wood inlaid floors , pocket doors , a courting bench and circular parlor .
A traditional Victorian Christmas . At dusk the house will go candle lit in keeping with the 1890s period .
Huneycutt-English Home 913 N . Anglin St .
This 1926 Craftsman Bungalow was build for B . B . Blanton , a local barber . The house changed owners twice before it was purchased by Simeon and Viola Huneycutt in 1944 . Viola Huneycutt continued to live in the home until 2000 .
The new owners have lovingly restored this beautiful home to what it is today . This was a Candlewalk home in 2023 .
Little Old House 409 N . Buffalo St .
Believed to be the oldest existing house in Cleburne , the Little Old House was built in 1867-68 close to Buffalo Creek .
Professor W . F . Featherston built the house for his sister , Elizabeth Pat Featherston Doty , also known as Addie .
The house is a Texas Historical Landmark , now maintained by Save Old Cleburne and The Johnson County Historical Commission .
