Who told you, you were

Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise.
And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by
the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers
important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God. 1 Corinthians 1:27-29 (NLT)
We live in a day and an age where many believe you need to have a certain status, job, house, or large
amounts of money to be considered a person of influence. In the Kingdom of God, that is not the case. We
can call on many witnesses from scripture that will prove this point but let us take a look at Gideon.
Gideon was minding his own business threshing wheat, in order to hide it from the Midianites, when the Angel of the Lord appeared before him, calling him a Mighty Man of Valor (Judges 6). Gideon, of course, did not
believe the Angel was referring to him. He considered himself the weakest among his tribe. Now, what I
found interesting about this passage is that the Angel of the Lord never acknowledged Gideon's response.
He continued to call him a Mighty Man of Valor. How much so, has the Lord continued to call us according
to what He knows to be true about us? We often allow our own perception of who we are to dictate our ability to do what God has called us to do.
Here in this story we find that Gideon was called to be a deliverer for his people. Reluctantly, he answered
the call and the Lord used him to defeat a multitude of soldiers with an army of just 300 men. How awesome
is that!
Our God is more than able to transform your life into a masterpiece, if you only allow Him to. No longer consider yourself as disqualified because of your past mistakes, or even your present circumstances. After all, if
you could do it in your own strength and your own might, He will never receive the Glory and He is not willing to share His Glory with anyone.
Lord open our eyes to see what you see in us, I pray. In Jesus name. Amen
