SOME PEOPLE ARE
MELTING FOR
One night this week, I watched the movie "FROZEN" with my two younger sons Josiah Hodge and Jordan Hodge. I believe everyone in the family had seen the
movie at the cinema except old dad. I had heard all types of good remarks about it.
And, I admit, it was a great movie. My wife and daughter were out of town so the
boys and I cozied down to watch the DVD.
However, I can't seem to shake a line from the movie. Here’s the background leading
up to the line. Princess Anna has been hit in her heart - with ice - accidentally by her
sister who has these ‘ice powers’ she can’t fully control – yet. Anna is slowly freezing
to death. Olaf is a little snow man who has come to life and was befriended by Anna.
To help her, Olaf starts a fire in the castle and pulls Anna close to it. Anna tries her
best to get him away from the fire before he melts, but he is persistent; he wants to
stay near her. She continues to chide: BUT YOU WILL MELT! Then Olaf says, "SOME
PEOPLE ARE WORTH MELTING FOR!"
WOW. Disney hit a truth in that one line that many of us REAL PEOPLE seem to
forget.
Jesus said, "...I have come that you might have LIFE and have it to the fullest /
abundantly" (John 10:10b). He knew, full well, the only way He could secure
that for us, was the giving of His own life in our stead.
Today, those who follow Him are to be prepared to make
the same sacrifice FOR OTHERS! "SOME PEOPLE ARE
WORTH MELTING FOR!"
