UP
recently received a piece of advertising mail
and its caption was “TRADE UP - Same
account, better features.” As I reviewed this
enticement, I learned that to take
advantage of these better features, it would
be a very simple process. No hoops to jump through,
or even pay anything additional, just make a toll free
call and start spending. It went on to reassure me that
nothing about my account will change, except I’ll
have these benefits. So I thought , “Why not just give
them to me then?” If this is so simple, costs nothing,
and all I have to do is make a phone call to ask, why
then, don’t you just give me the benefits? Then,
instead of mailing me this paper to tell me to call you,
you could instead mail me something that tells me
you already gave this to me. Am I missing something
here?

about you – but that gets me very excited!
I teach often on the power of our words. The more I
teach this, the more I learn about God’s system of
operation. The Word tells us to “Ask” – we are
promised the desires of our hearts – to ask, seek,
knock (ASK). God has already given us everything we
will ever need, want, desire, (of course in alignmentnot those selfish requests,) we just simply have to ask.
Just as with this advertisement, the benefits are
already there, we just have to ask. By asking, through
prayer, we are giving consent. We are saying to God,
just as I would be to this creditor, “Yes, I want these
So on my mailer, I looked for the fine print, which I
didn’t see, and I suppose I will make that call to gain
these better features. And in my walk with Jesus, I will
make those daily, sometimes hourly calls, in prayer, to
gain His better features. I’m learning more and more,
about His fine print – believe – we can ask, we should
ask, and we must believe. Making the call in prayer
isn’t enough, we must also believe that we will receive
what we ask. After-all, the benefits are there waiting
for us – they are already prepared and ready –
awaiting our consent. Make your call today!
While God is sovereign and will bless our lives in ways
we sometimes aren’t even aware of, He also has
established a rewards program for us. We can Trade
Up – same account, better features. Different though,
we don’t have to earn our points with Him. He gives
them freely, abundantly, and without limitation! We
simply have to use our toll-free number, prayer, and
ask. James 1:5-6, promises wisdom when we ask in
faith without doubting (ah, some fine print); Matthew
21:22, whatever “things” you ask in prayer, believing,
you will receive (there’s that believing thing again);
and even when you need something resurrected, as
in John 11:22-23, when we ask, and believe, it will be
done and given unto us.
