Miss Shellfish Beach
What inspired you to start LO&LITA?
I’ve been designing since I was 6, so I’ve always loved fashion and image. Naturally, I
have always wanted to make clothes and have people wear them. I also wanted to make
something a little different. I see a lot of trends, but I’m not into them as much as I’m
into personal style. I wanted to design for a girl who knows what she wants and how to
wear herself well. I wanted to make stuff for girls to put on and feel fun and fresh but
comfy and laid back. But my kind of girl is edgy and a little loud, and daring so none of
my stuff will be exactly... “subtle”
Describe your label in three words:
Edgy, fun and cool
What is something special about your label?
I design things that are for the fun and edgy risky chicks. Life of the party types. And
sassy provocateurs. All of my stuff is one of a kind and hand made. So it’s not boring
and my kind of girl will always stand out.
What inspired your debut collection?
Lady Gaga’s “Seashell Girl”, as well as Marina and the Diamonds “Bubblegum Bitch”.
The hologram trend and of course my home of San Diego, California.
What can people expect from the debut collection from your label?
Lots of pastels, pinks, embellishments and holograms of course!
Any advice for people wishing to start up their own fashion label?
Stick to your vision, have fun and plan ahead!!
