Peppermint Hot Chocolate
As spring is approaching fast and winter is almost gone, why don’t just indulge in a hot drink
before it’s too late?
Serves FOUR
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
950 ml / 1 quart of milk
1/2 cup / 3 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
7 peppermint sticks: 3 crushed + 4 whole
A pinch of salt
Place cocoa powder in a medium saucepan.
Slowly whisk in the milk until all the cocoa powder has dissolved.
Add in the chocolate chips and the crushed peppermint.
Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Keep stirring until all the chocolate and peppermint have melted, which could take 8-10 minutes.
Bring to a boil and immediately remove from heat.
Add salt.
Ladle into mugs; serve each with a peppermint stick.
Sit on the sofa, cuddle up in blankets, and read a book with this satisfying beverage. Enjoy!
