Who is she?
Özlem Türeci has been working in cancer research for more than 20 years. The focus of scientists' research is to identify immunotherapeutic drug targets for non-hematological (generalized studies of blood cells) and to identify vaccine-based treatments as well as antibody development. Özlem Türeci founded GANYMED Pharmaceuticals AG in Mainz, Germany in 2001 and has been working here as a chief physician since November 2008. Developing SEREX technology for characterization of tumor antigens, Türeci won the German Hematology and Oncology Association Vincenz Czerny Award in 1995 and University Saarland's Calogero Pagliarello Research Award in 1997
