RECEIVED DIPLOMACY AWARD IN SCIENCE

Sayers was awarded the 2019 Diploma in Science Award by the USA Science Progress Association (AAAS) for his work together with his four teammates.

Sayers graduated from the Physics Department of Boğaziçi University in 1974 and later completed his doctorate in Biophysics at the University of London.

Zehra Sayers is also a critic of the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (SSRL), a member of the Turkish Accelerator Center Project (TAC) Scientific Advisory Committee and EMBL Hamburg Project Evaluation Panel.

Sayers' scientific studies during his academic career were supported by institutions such as the Swedish Natural Sciences Research Council, TUBITAK, the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), UNESCO, and the Jülich Research Center.
