“ I was going to ask if you had any pets , because there ’ s a special dungeon for pets that is right next to you , and I thought you might be lonely .” “ First of all , why do you keep calling it a dungeon when you started out calling it a stronghold , and then you — never mind ,” I sighed . “ Anyway , you ’ re a witch , and you put me in a dungeon , so it is very generous and surprising of you to wonder if I was lonely and wonder if there was anything you could do .” “ Oh and also , the last part of what I wanted to say was , are you hungry ? Did I mention that yet ?” Cecilia asked . “ No , you did not . As I was saying , my thing was , can you tell me a little about why you said that was your house before when we were talking about the stolen harp ? I mean , like , we ’ re talking in your house , so —” “— Yeah , yeah , yeah , I knew you ’ d ask eventually . This is not my home , this is my headquarters . Where I work and stuff , like a work building ?” “ Oh , that makes sense . So that cabin of music is your house ?” “ Oh no , I live in an underground bunker where I practice witchcraft and stuff . It ’ s great !” “ So why did you say that I stole the harp from your house if that ’ s not your house ?” “ Well , you see ...” Cecilia sighed . “ Look , you ’ re one of the smartest prisoners I ’ ve ever taken captive , and uh , to be honest , I ’ ve never had anyone that I took captive figure that out and ask . But I guess since you were clever enough to ask , I might as well tell you . That house was the house where I grew up , where my mom grew up , where my mom ’ s mom ’ s mom ’ s mom ’ s mom grew up , and really everyone for the last five thousand generations . That harp was my mom ’ s . She used to play the sweetest music in all the land and come back every day with the finest dinners for our family . After she died , I kept the harp to remember her by . Her shows were stupendous ! So , um ... yeah , now you know .” “ Wow . Cool story !” “ Thanks . I tell it every night to the butterfly people and their children and uh , yeah ... we ’ ve been doing that for the last —” “— Five thousand generations ?” I asked . “ You guessed it ! That ’ s the limit of years we pass something around in my family .” “ Hey , will you join my show with me ?” I asked . “ We ’ re looking for someone who can play the harp . Because , while I can play it , and I said I like to , I never said that it didn ’ t make my fingers tired . And , to be honest , I am little sick of my fingers being sooooooo tired !” “ I love playing the harp ,” she said . ‘ I ’ ll play in your band . Playing the harp , with you , in a band , and it ’ s a magic harp ? That sounds like a dream come true !”
And so , me and Cecilia were now the best of friends and the best of a band . And we all lived very richly ever after . THE END
