Burnt Tongue Story

It was here . The monster . It had finally come for me . I curled up in bed and awaited my fate . I covered my eyes with my hands . Then I peeked through . The monster in the corner still hadn ’ t moved . It was savoring the moment . I began saying goodbye to everything . My mom , my dad , Grandma , Grandpa , hold on , is the monster coming closer ? I sat up . The monster was still there . It was standing still , wondering how I would taste . I looked around , searching for a possible exit . There was none , other than the open window . As I inched towards the window , the monster ' s limbs swayed . I stopped moving . I slowly leaned back in the bed . My breath was coming out hard . The monster slowly goes still and lets out a ghastly shaking noise . It ’ s drinking my fear ! I frantically reach towards my bedside and ready my weapon to protect me . I had thought the monster was a different type , but I realized my mistake . It was a Bob , the worst of monsters . Before killing and eating you , they would drink your fear as a delicacy . Fortunately , I had the one weapon that could work on it . The Destructinator-9000 . As I calibrated my weapon , the monster began to sway again . Didn ’ t expect this , did you SCUM !?? I pushed the FIRE button on the Destructinator-9000 . A burst of white light shot out , catching the monster off guard . I shielded my eyes , as the initial blast can be dangerous even to the shooter . I opened my eyes to see the wreckage I had caused on the monster . I opened my mouth in disbelief . It had worked beyond my wildest expectations ! The monster was gone , its body replaced by a mere lamp covered by a robe , its movement reduced to mere wind in the window , and it ' s horrifying call stolen by the tree branches fighting the air . I put the Destructinator-9000 , depleted of energy , back where it belongs so it can charge to regain its true form . I let out a sigh as I lie back down . Another monster killed , another night survived .
