Why you Take the Train

Sitting back on the velvet plush seats Watching the world race by A blur against the indigo sky
Lights flashing from the street lights and passing trains Everywhere you go a glimpse , A moment in another person ’ s life
Just for a second you have a clear image of the scene below , Women laughing arms around each other , happy Girls running around the corner pulling forward , business men in the background , briefcases in hand
Each of them in a different moment , living different lives Then , the train moves on flying past and they are gone , Oblivious to the fact they were seen at all
It ’ s like looking through a tinted window The one who sees but is never seen
You experience people the way they really are Not some shell of appearance Not a self conscious reflection
This is how it is like at all the stations The quick glimpses of life , the inspiration for your work The reason you take the train
I ain ' t dainty , I ain ' t sweet ,
