reminiscing in light : gaze the moon
Alex S ( 7th Grade )
i sit and watch and gaze the moon my fingers dance through the soil with the chilling warmth that freezes the green mossy tarp that is alive
my fingers dance through the soil i grasp a fist of such , grainy stuff , the green mossy tarp that is alive it ’ s such that life is due to spring
i grasp a fist of such , grainy stuff , the bark , it smells of the cool earth , i feel it ’ s such that life is due to spring i extend an arm to graze the lowest branch
the bark , it smells of the cool earth , i feel the sky , it watches , the moon awaits i extend an arm to graze the lowest branch i extend an arm , i stroke the moon
the sky , it watches , the moon awaits their cooing , lunar grin , the trickster eyes i extend an arm , i stroke the moon she opens her mouth , and yawns
a haze , the world , now in drowsy mist the sky rolls over , the clouds embrace with the chilling warmth that freezes
not a sedentary person am i , yet i sit tonight the foggy halo , it assembles , fading and blurring the edges of the night but i do not doubt that these edges are elusive , and not finite i do not doubt that this night was meant for drowsy resting i sit and watch and gaze the moon
