Memories
Tristan M ( 6th Grade )
Memory 1 - I remember going to The Grand Canyon and I was able to look over the rim . The landscape was like nothing I had ever seen , with the unfathomable depths directly before me , and the horizon so flat I could see for miles . The scale was incredible , and I am unable to picture just how far down the canyon went , even though I saw it in person .
Memory 2 - I remember pulling on an icicle that had formed between the awning and wall of the stable where my cousins took horseback-riding lessons , and bringing an entire roof of snow and ice sliding down onto myself , faster than I could react . My dad had to dig me out until only my feet were stuck , and then he pulled , holding me under my arms , until I popped free of the snow , leaving my boots behind . He carried me to the car and went back for my boots
Memory 3 - I remember the tour I took of mammoth cave , and what an adventure it was . We covered very little of the cave ’ s tunnel , but we still passes through rooms with underground streams , and passages so small I had to crawl through them , twisting my shoulders to conform better to the shape of the tunnel .
