ZHENZHONG XIAO Xiaozhen Corp. josephine and leslie valencia WEI XU AND ZHIGONG CI Remigio and Anastacia Alberto Cebu City Quezon City Iriga City Platinum Platinum Platinum “We have to embrace change if we want to grow”—Josephine held on to this maxim when she realized a few years ago she was ‘stuck.’ She was a schoo l physician while her husband Leslie worked for a transportation business. She finally thought of join- ing Amway later on, seeing success and a much bigger sense of financial freedom that then rippled to her fam- ily’s benefit. It was all about “waiting” for Wei Xu and Zhigon Ci back in China—wait- ing for their day-off, waiting for pay- day, waiting for retirement. Both found themselves lost, with no clear path and direction in their career. They would soon be introduced to Amway mentors John and Judy Ding, who then flew to the Philippines to start building their Amway business. Here, they found a new dream and purpose. “We believe there’s a mission for us by the arrangements of God, to help more people in the Philippines and to achieve the goal not just through hard work, but also through the support of the world’s best company, best prod- ucts, and best mentor team,” they say. 24 After working as a businessman and an accountant in a shipping compa- ny respectively, husband and wife Remigio and Anastacia found them- selves preparing for retirement. They would, however, leave retirement as an idea when they discovered Amway later on. (Remigio saw Amway’s agri-products to be effective in his farming biz!) The couple would then get themselves oiled again to pursue a career as ABOs. Stressing the im- portance of financial independence in their age while raising a family, Anastacia shares, “My husband wants me to stay home and live a simple life. But I decided to retire early and fo- cus on my Amway business instead. I want to leave a legacy to my children. And little by little, he understood.” jiuhan yin melanie villanueva Xiaozhen Corp. But his own journey into the compa- ny started later on. Zhengzhong was then working as at a telecommunica- tion company in China, and then flew to the Philippines with his friend Meng Fei to pursue a jewelry business. He would get introduced to a team leader from Amway, and then find himself fas- cinated enough with it to start his own Amway business. Zhenzhong, who loves trying new ventures and taking on challenges, ultimately reached his goal to become a Platinum ABO. On his next goal to reach Diamond status, he says, “I do believe that if everyone can do it, I can do it, too!” Jiuhan discovered Amway rather in the most unfortunate of circumstanc- es. She was a sickly kid, who’d get confined at the hospital twice a week and take lots of meds. This altogether let her miss out on most of her child- hood, until Amway came into the pic- ture. Jiuhan would then rely on Amway supplements to better her health and finally get her to live a much better life. She later signed up as an ABO. “I know this business is really good. With Amway, I hope I can help more people like me. I am confident that I can do better in the future,” she shares. Jiuhan credits her success to her leader and father figure David Sun, next to her mom who is also an ABO. WAN YO CHUA Manila City Platinum 25 Melanie found the Amway busi- ness as the perfect opportunity for a career, so she excitedly grabbed it. While she was introduced to the busi- ness through a friend, she was al- ready using the products herself—in fact, she still uses them to this day! The now-successful ABO’s top tricks of the trade? “Don’t let anybody steal your dreams! Just pay more attention to your business, because in the end, you’ll realize it’s all worth it.” “In the beginning, I didn’t think I can do this business,” shares Wan Yo, who came across Amway while work- ing in a Chinese temple here in the Philippines. This career eventually un- furled a blanket of opportunities for this foreigner—despite living far from her homeland and away from her loved ones—to prosper. Wan Yo even- tually worked her way up to be a top ABO, finding the Philippines not just as a good place for business but also her second home.
