alex q&a 9 but, really, how do you stay at the top of your game? Hard workers like you know too well that the journey toward your goal is all worth it at the end. The next challenge, however, is to maintain your level of success and then grow. Top ABOs Lily Acha and Raquel Bernardino share here what it takes to keep yourself on your toes! How do you counter the obstacles and chal- lenges you usually come across while main- taining top performance? Disappointments still come, but it’s up to you to let them go. “There are aplenty—when a potential business partner does not show up at our agreed appointment. You invite them, they will say yes, but will not show at the event. Why? They have their own reasons,” Lily opens up. “However, this motivates me more because I keep thinking that I will find the right business part- ner—and I believe that soon I will find my six business partners to reach diamond status!” Be open-minded as well, adds Raquel, “Stay flexible because change is inevitable. There are market changes and culture evolution, some practices also become ob- solete. Flexibility comes with humility. Knowing and acknowl- edging that you need to continue learning whether through a mentor or even from a new person.” What would make your biz stay flourishing? Be a good leader, Lily says. One who is ambitious (“The most important thing to stay at the top for me is the determination to succeed. Be humble at all times and be an inspiration to your group.”), open-minded (“Be grateful always whenever you en- counter something positive or negative. Always follow good leaders and mentors because they have tons of knowledge and experiences to share doing the business.”), and humble (“To be successful, you should be a good leader not only in your group but also be a good leader to yourself.”). This will generate the kind of spirit you and your teammates need as you inch further toward your KPIs. And then, the most important: Give back. Raquel says, “To find lifelong fulfillment in the business is to help, develop, and equip new emerging leaders in our organization. This way, we continue to invest some of our time, money and knowledge so we can pass on the abounding blessings one fam- ily at a time. This has really become our passion and out of gen- uine gratitude, we used our gift of leadership and influence not only through wealth building but also to other important areas of people’s lives.” 22 What motivates you beyond your financial goals? Find a purpose, Lily says, as this will keep you not just ground- ed but also more inspired to be better at what you do. “My per- sonal goals include becoming financially free, traveling around the world, and helping my family to have the same wonderful life just like mine!” she enthuses. “My bigger goal to also help other people reach their own goals and dreams!’ 23
