Safety Features
The soup maker is fitted with several safety features including an interlocking lid cut-out, a minimum liquid
sensor, a hot liquid overflow sensor and a tilt detector safety micro-switch cut-off in the motor base unit.
Before use
? Before using the Soup Maker for the first time wipe all the external surfaces thoroughly with a cloth
dampened in a mild detergent. Wash the INSIDE of the jug using warm soapy water. Use the brush
provided to clean around the blade. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.
? Warning: DO NOT IMMERSE the jug in water as the base of the jug contains electrical
components.
Caution: the jug contains very sharp blades and should be handled with care at all times.
? Now add your ingredients. If you are boiling or steaming eggs you will need to place the Egg
Steamer in first.
? Place the base unit of soup maker on a heat-resistant, stable surface. Carefully position the jug on
the base unit aligning the connections in the base of the jug handle with those in the base unit. The
jug should sit securely and squarely on top of the base unit.
? Fit the lid to the soup maker jug by rotating clockwise until the ‘lock’ decal and arrow on the lid
align with the arrow the top of the handle, the lid will click once fully aligned and lock.
? Ensure the measuring cup stopper is fitted to the chute in the centre of the top of the lid by
pushing home.
Using your Soup Maker
? Once everything is positioned correctly, connect the soup maker to the nearest mains power supply
socket and press the ON/OFF button to power up your Soup maker.
Note: If at this point the alarm sounds, disconnect the soup maker from the mains power supply and check
that the lid and jug are properly fitted and the fluid level is correct as described in trouble shooting chart.
Once the problem is corrected, reconnect to the mains and power up.

After pressing the “ON/OFF” button the indicators flash to confirm power up, the next stage is to
choose the type of cooking mode (see below), once selected, the soup maker will beep once
indicating that cooking process has started.
Making smooth soup will take around 21 minutes while chunky soup takes around 20 minutes.
Once cooking or blending is completed, the soup maker will beep for several seconds and the
indicators will blink.
To completely stop the programme at any time, simply press the ON/OFF button.
Your soup can be poured straight from the jug but be careful when removing the lid from the jug as
it and the contents will be very hot and steam may escape.
WARNING: heat/steam will be emitted from the lid. Care must be taken when removing the lid and
food chute.
