COMPLIANCE AND NON-COMPLIANCE
In relation to alcohol dependency to be compliant with treatment for the abuse, the person undergoing the treatment must be able to follow professional help and the guidance that is given to them to help overcome the addiction, such as support groups to help them understand the nature of their addiction such as:

In responding to non-compliance, the individual brings the great risk of harming their body If an individual accepts help but then decides to continue drinking or even refuse help altogether, they are at risk of seriously damaging their health such as Liver disease, pancreatitis, certain types of cancer, high blood pressure and various other ailments.
On a social standing the risk of non-compliance of admitting alcohol abuse is exclusion from family and friends due to the person not willing to enable that they have a problem with alcohol. Employment could also be affected through alcohol abuse as employers often frown upon people who show up for work hungover of are still under the effect of alcohol and henceforth employment would be terminated, which would then affect further job opportunities.
