Albeit short due to the heavy Chinook wind, this trip served as a reminder of the need for cooperative interaction with our First Nations people and their positive role in environmental stewardship. It also reinforced how fortunate we are to enjoy the variety that is fly fishing in southern Alberta.
TRIP BETA:
Season: All season for dry fly, nymphing tactics to fool browns and rainbows. Windy summer days can be good for hoppers and terrestrials. Later season (fall) fishing can produce bigger browns (moving up to spawn) on streamers.
Gear: 4 – 6 weight rods with floating lines and intermediate sink tip (for later season streamers). Dries, emergers, nymphs and streamers all have a place on this river.
