BOARD CHAIR LETTER
This edition of the magazine is the first with our new President and Chief Executive Officer at the helm. I hope that you saw my late-March announcement naming BreeAnna Erickson to lead Alaska CHARR. It was a pleasure to promote from within, and BreeAnna brings a well-rounded understanding of the CHARR organization, having held multiple key roles over the years.
I’ m excited to see the new ideas she brings as she continues to advance CHARR’ s longstanding mission. Selecting a new President and Chief Executive Officer is never an easy task. It requires significant work above and beyond the normal responsibilities of staff, committees, and the Board of Directors. During the search, staff took on additional duties, directors served on a dedicated search committee, the Executive Committee met frequently with staff, and the full Board convened for multiple special meetings. The attendance, engagement, and thoughtful consideration throughout this process were outstanding. Ultimately, the full Board participated in the decision to hire BreeAnna as our new President and Chief Executive Officer.
I’ m continually impressed by our industry’ s willingness— and this organization’ s ability— to come together to find solutions, support one another, and respond to issues that affect us all. The level of involvement sustained during this extended process was truly exceptional, and everyone involved deserves our sincere gratitude for their hard work, commitment, and patience.

If you haven’ t met BreeAnna yet, I encourage you to connect with her at an upcoming CHARR event— such as the annual Golf Tournament, this year’ s Convention, or other member gatherings. These are great opportunities to meet BreeAnna, catch up with your Board of Directors, and visit with CHARR staff. And if you can’ t make it to an event, keep an eye out for BreeAnna at an affiliate meeting in your area as she continues reaching out to our membership across the state.
Sincerely,
Paul Thomas Chairman of the Board
