Advocacy at Work

Alaska CHARR’ s Board of Directors and Government Affairs staff met in Juneau on February 10th.
We met with Rep. Zack Fields, Rep. Ashley Carrick, Sen. Jesse Bjorkman, Rep. Dan Saddler, Rep. Jeremy Bynum, Rep. Mia Costello, Rep. Will Stapp, Rep. Bill Elam, Rep. Genevieve Mina, Rep. Sarah Vance, Rep. Rebecca Himschoot, Rep. Louise Stutes, Rep. Scott Kawasaki, Rep. Jubilee Underwood and Rep. Ted Eischeid.
The meetings focused on advocating for legislation to advance Alaska’ s hospitality industry.
These conversations provided an important opportunity to share firsthand perspectives from Alaska’ s hospitality operators and to discuss the challenges facing restaurants, bars, hotels, and related businesses across the state.

cost and limited availability of coverage, which
continue to strain small businesses and
threaten
the
long-term
stability
of
the
industry.
