where students anonymously submitted texts about each other which proved to be either extremely embarrassing or hilarious.

Tuesday was the first spirit day that everyone had been looking forward to. As each state modeled their own state t-shirts, Georgians marched through the campus showing off their “snazzy” purple shirts with a shining, golden peach on the back. Our President, Michael Banks, and 2nd Vice President, Michelle Cho, performed the role call we had rehearsed at fellowship the night before, and the gymnasium roared with hype and excitement.

On Wednesday, delegates showcased their creativity with the theme, Troy Story, where students were dressed as the Little Green Men and other popular characters. The day was concluded by intense games of Ludi ultimate frisbee and chess.

When Thursday evening finally arrived, delegates swarmed the gymnasium during GA for the classic purple and gold theme, painting the swarming sea of students with the two colors. They gathered here once again in the evening for the infamous talent show, That's Entertainment. Acts ranged from dance routines to violin duets to humorous skits. Our very own Georgian, Albert Ting, won third place for his wonderful performance of the Super Smash Bros theme song on the piano.

It's a bittersweet time as graduated seniors depart the JCL while fresh, new faces join us every convention. Whether you're from a small or large chapter, or whether you take Latin I or AP Latin, one small commonality seems to make JCL possibly the most cohesive and tightly-knit group of people one can ever be a part of. A passion for the classics. It gives each of us an opportunity to connect with not only each other but the rest of society, and national convention is the perfect place to explore that. I think everyone can agree that although this one week flew by, it created everlasting experiences, friendships, and memories. This national convention truly illustrated the saying, "Sweet Home Alabama."

he overwhelming exhilaration in the air was quite unexpected at 6:30 a.m. on the parking lot of the Walker School. Everyone filed onto the three buses, some spontaneously yelling, “Hey, Georgia?!” All sense of morning drowsiness disappeared quickly as reunions were made, snapchat stories were updated, and a new journey began, as one hundred thirty-two delegates and eleven chaperones rode off toward Troy, Alabama to a JCL haven, affectionately called “National Convention.”

Upon arrival, everyone dispersed throughout the beautiful campus playing frisbee outside, touring the area, or registering for different events until we congregated once again for the very first general assembly where the NJCL President, Lyle Seeligson, welcomed us to the 2017 National Convention. Students recited their first JCL creed of the convention and passionately chanted the JCL song holding their fellow delegates arm in arm. The first GA went by quickly, and the crowd scattered to Colloquia sessions, the Scavenger Hunt, Olympika swimming, and the conveniently-placed Starbucks in the book store.

The agora opened each evening where bustling crowds of eager customers hunted for their favorite t-shirts and buttons. Other delegates attended the first of many dances to come and were thoroughly surprised by the lit setting, figuratively and literally. Nonetheless, everyone was able to flaunt their best moves on the dance floor, occasionally earning a spot on the daily gossip session,
