learn to be disciplined, you’ll be just fine.
5. Be patient.
If things don’t seem to be going your way, please be patient. Remember, things always go according to plan, but they may not go according to your plan. Have faith in Allah SWT, he knows what is best for you and he is the best of planners. So with this in mind, do your absolute best. Work hard with sincerity and good intention. And please, please, please, if medicine doesn’t work out as a career option, don’t fall off the deep end. It’s an OPTION, there are many more out there, arguably better ones. The point is to have parallel options ready just in case.
6. Lead and inspire
It may not seem this way while in undergrad, but once you're out of that world, you will come to realize that you had the ability to inspire and significantly influence others around you. This is because you see your friends multiple times on a day-to-day basis. Whether at their apartments, in the musallah, at a restaurant, or just during passing in between classes, the ability to influence is present at each moment. It is vital to understand this reality as it will cause you to become more aware of your actions and bring you towards good while influencing others to do the same. However, once you graduate, you won't have such easy access to inspire others because you will move on to graduate school, work, etc. Your responsibilities will increase and your free time will be drastically reduced. It will be very difficult to attend that one lecture, or that one MSA meeting, or that Halaqa, or whatever else we took for granted while in college. So my humble advice to you all is to make use of this valuable time. Inspire people with your actions so that you may leave a legacy behind for others to follow
Aside from this, you’ve got great upperclassmen, so please reach out to them. And always remember to progress in the aspects of dunya (this world) and the deen (Islam). We should always strive to attain higher levels of both aspects. Remember, Allah SWT says that if you walk towards him, he will run towards you. And if you come to him at a hand’s length, He will come to you at an arm’s length. Keep up with your duties and responsibilities as a Muslim. If you remember Allah SWT, He will remember you. Please feel free to email me with any questions: [email protected]. I humbly request that you all keep me and my family in your duas and pray for my success in this world and the hereafter inshaAllah. Jazakallahu Khair.
