YOUNG GUNS YOUNG GUNS Resident young gun Jezz Blume tackles the issues of young players’ teams I ’ve mentioned playing in a team as a younger player a few times now so I thought it would be good to cover it in more detail. Hopefully I can give you an idea of what you can learn from playing in a team and what advantages you can gain from it (and even disadvantages). In this article I’ll tell you about my old team that I formed a while back with my younger player friends who no longer play airsoft. I can tell you about what I learnt, how we liked to play – and some of those embarrassing moments that will live forever! Over a year ago a group of my friends and I decided to form a team known as F .E.A.R (and we weren’t named after the game!). Anyway, forming this team had its advantages for the others and myself, though unfortunately it didn’t end well (as I said, they no longer airsoft). But I learnt a lot from forming the team of ‘youngens’; it taught me a lot about leadership and teamwork. Forming a team as a young player isn’t advisable for many reasons – but nobody is stopping you! I know what it feels like to want to be a part of the community and be like those bigger and better teams. So by all means go for it, but be aware it can have consequences and does take dedication at its finest. www.airsoftactionmagazine.com 065
