Aireys Inlet is a small coastal inlet and town located on the Great Ocean Road,
southwest of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Aireys Inlet is located
between Anglesea and Lorne, and joined with Fairhaven to the west.
Many surfers holiday in Aireys Inlet to take advantage of the popular Fairhaven
beach. Fairhaven is a beautiful beach with breathtaking views
of the lighthouse and is patrolled by Fairhaven Surf Life Saving Club, who is
also running the popular Nippers Program every summer so is a very
popular attraction for families with young children.

The small town of Aireys Inlet is located on the
scenic Great Ocean Road, between the larger
centres of Anglesea and Lorne, and nestled
between the bushland of the Otway Ranges
and the rugged coastline.
The primary landmark in town is the Split Point
Lighthouse which was built in 1891 and stands
34 metres tall.
Walking tracks near the lighthouse offer scenic
views over along the coast.A few kilometres
west of Aireys Inlet is Fairhaven Beach, which is
renowned for its surf, and Eastern View which is
the site of the Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch,
commemorating the construction of the road as
a memorial to those that lost their lives during
World War One.
There are two small but distinct commercial
centres in town - one in the north and on top
of the hill, including prominent essential
businesses: Pharmacy, Post office, General
store, Real Estate, Gift shop and Food outlets;
and the other centre is at the bottom of the
hill and just east of Painkalac Creek, featuring
a Surf shop, Fashion and Hair salon, Book shop
& Real estate and more eateries.
A little further along the Great Ocean Road is
Cinema Point where sweeping views of the
coast can be enjoyed.The Great Otway National
Park, inland from Aireys Inlet, features fern
gullies, waterfalls and includes the steep
timbered ridges of the eastern Otways.
