The Decision Local Jet Meetings are great fun to attend, and being based in East Gippsland we (the Sale Mafia) do our best to attend as many of these meetings as we possibly can in order to support the various clubs that run these events, such as the Victorian Jet Aerosport Association (VJAA) with Wangaratta Jets, the Jet Flyers Association of New South Wales (JFA) with Jets over Temora and the Adelaide Model Aerosport club (AMA) with Jet Action. Some of us are yet to make it to Western Australia or into Queensland but we are working on that. However, being based in East Gippsland, all of our travels take us towards the setting sun, that was until recently when at the Temora jet meeting we were treated to a rundown of the upcoming ANZAC Jet event being hosted by the New Zealand Jet Modeller’s Association (NZJMA) to be held 15th to the 17th of February 2013. Roger Perrett (expat kiwi) and Peter Brown who had come over from NZ for the Temora meeting explained to those of us who had not been before, just what the ANZAC event is all about and just how we could get our planes safely over there and back again. Straight away my great friend Rob Epplestun and I made the decision to set the wheels into motion and work towards getting to this meeting. 58 Airborne
