This is not their first petrol powered engine, but it is however their first model helicopter petrol powered engine. In summary, the features of this engine are: 1 Compact — fits most .90-size model helicopters with only minor modifications 2 Offers outstanding fuel economy 3 Runs consistently without constant preflight adjustments 4 O.S./Walbro - developed pumper carburettor ensures consistent performance regardless of attitude, altitude or fuel level 5 Features the IG-05 Ignition Module that is designed specifically for model helicopters 6 The IG-05 Ignition Module arrives with a straight plug cap for easy installation. It’s compatible with a wide range of battery chemistries, including NiCd or NiMH, LiPo and LiFe packs Now I’m not an engine guru, that’s for sure, but my fellow columnist Brian Winch, is pretty good at reviewing model engines. So I sent the engine off to Brian for his considered opinion. Brian was kind enough to send me his findings, and here they are: • Outer case is finely cast-pleasant fine bead blast finish-very substantial but lightweight-excellent heat dissipation, very well supported front housing-solid engine mount lugs. Backplate has an “O” ring seal to eliminate leaks and seeping during hot running. • Walbro WT 243 pumper carburettor is well matched to the engine and can be reversed according to control access needs. It has long control rods, and easy access to control the arms. • The piston is fully machined from bar stock low expansion aluminium alloy, one iron ring fitted, access to gudgeon through rear case aperture 40 Airborne
