OUR CORE VALUES
CUSTOMER-DRIVEN RESULTS-DRIVEN
My advice for anyone looking to start a career at Rausch Coleman is to show integrity. They’ ll look at your character and decide if you’ re the best fit for the job.”
Accountant Rebecca Johnson agrees.“ I would rather hire someone with the right attitude that doesn’ t have a lot of experience than someone with a lot of experience or education, but the wrong attitude,” she says.“ There are so many opportunities here, whether you have a degree or not. This company promotes from within – we want to help you move up.”
Matt Walters, vice president of operations for Northwest Arkansas,“ I quickly realized this is a great company that is committed to always doing the right thing to serve our people and our customers.”
SERVICE-DRIVEN PEOPLE-DRIVEN RESULTS-DRIVEN
Walters says the company needs more field managers to coordinate the subcontractors that build the houses. You don’ t need a degree, but you do need to understand construction.
“ We can teach you how to build houses,” he explains.“ When I’ m hiring someone I look for things that can’ t be taught. Work ethic is number one. I look for people who have had some type of job before or played sports because that shows you’ re dedicated and can work with a team. I also look for technical aptitude – if you’ ve taken any sort of shop or construction-related classes. And you need to be able to treat people in a professional way.”
CHECK US OUT
Falinda Duncan is just one team member who’ s moved up. She started six years ago as a closing coordinator, helping people with the final steps of buying a house. She’ s now the director of the company’ s new rental division.
“ We are a growing company, so that means change,” she says.“ But change creates new opportunities. You’ ll be successful if you are a team player and goal oriented because we are a results-driven company.”
At the end of the day, she says it all comes down to building better homes for better lives.“ It’ s important work. What you do here changes people’ s lives.”
Many other careers at Rausch Coleman focus on business. Alex Martin is learning about those as a human resources and marketing intern, an experience he says has taught him responsibility.“ In most internships you just do busy work. But here, I work on projects that matter, like using data analytics for reports the company uses to make decisions.”
He’ s also impressed by the company’ s culture.“ Everyone is willing to help you learn and grow your skills.” Martin says he can see a future at Rausch Coleman after he finishes college.“ I’ d like to work in accounting.
