WIPE AWAY CAREER QUESTIONS WITHIN A FAMILY CULTURE
ROCKLINE INDUSTRIES in Springdale makes wet wipes— everything from baby wipes to makeup remover wipes— that are sold under various labels by major retailers nationwide. Rockline’ s Springdale campus includes a technical center where new products are developed, sales and corporate offices, a global engineering division and production areas. All those departments mean you’ ll find a variety of career opportunities. Technical maintenance, electrical technicians, electrical engineers and production team members are just some of the jobs in demand at Rockline.
Alaina Guillen is a human resources administrator, but started out as a temporary production worker when she was 18 years old, before she even graduated high school.“ I went full time after graduation and worked on the production floor for eight years. During that time, I was an assistant to the line lead, helped with data entry, and also helped with some projects in human resources.” Guillen earned a promotion to human resources, the department where she has built her career over the past 16 years.
“ My favorite part of the job is helping people— that’ s my passion,” she explains. In her current position, Guillen is in charge of handling employee benefits and orientation for people who have just been hired. She’ s working to advance her career, thanks to Rockline’ s tuition assistance program, part of the company’ s belief in the importance of education.“ I want to get my degree in human resources, and that financial help allows me to do that. With my degree, I’ d like to eventually move up to become a human resources generalist,” Guillen says.
Rockline offers two ways to help grow your career: a personal development track and a professional development track. The personal development track helps pay for formal education, like college classes, that are industry or job related. The professional track provides payment for seminars or workshops that help build skills in your current role.“ It’ s just one way the company lives its values,” Guillen says.“ Our values are more than just a slogan. There is a‘ we’ re in this together’ mentality. Rockline’ s leadership truly wants us to succeed.”
Personal and professional development options help team members find their path.
Rockline’ s core values are centered on renewal through investing in its people and technology, respect, integrity, teamwork and excellence. That culture is part of what drew Zach Cocagne to the company.
“ I love Rockline’ s culture because it makes me feel like I’ m part of something bigger than myself,” he says. Cocagne is a mechanical engineer and manages shift leads on the production floor.“ We have a very diverse work environment and it’ s a relaxed, family culture. We have fun!”
Since starting with Rockline more than four years ago, he has advanced to two other positions. Cocagne has some advice for discovering the career that’ s right for you.“ Find out what your values are and what you want to be in life. I wanted to feel needed and be given responsibility. At Rockline, I can continue to learn and move up. I have the opportunity to go anywhere in this company.”
