Hall wasn’ t always a refrigeration expert.“ When I got out of high school, I worked in the restaurant business and would see the techs come in and fix the coolers and freezers, and I started getting interested in that. I did some research online and learned about different jobs and discovered the ammonia refrigeration program at Northwest Technical Institute in Springdale.” Hall spent 10 months at NTI and earned a dual certification in industrial maintenance and ammonia refrigeration.“ I actually had a job before I even graduated. With this type of certificate, the opportunities are endless. You will always have a job and the sky is the limit as far as how much you can make if you’ re willing to work at it.” Hall has plans for his future.“ It takes about eight to 10 years to really master this if you’ re serious about it. After that, I’ m interested in consulting.”
Aguirre also appreciates the company’ s willingness to help out employees when needed.“ When my son was born, I asked if I could change my schedule, and they were good to work with me. Being able to do that means he doesn’ t have to be in daycare. This company has always treated me well.”

Angel Aguirre also built a successful career as a quality control supervisor at George’ s, where he makes sure the plant meets USDA regulations, but that wasn’ t always his plan.“ I was 18 years old just out of high school and was just looking for a summer job. I had family who worked at George’ s, and they said it was a good place to start.” He was hired as a quality control technician and started seeing opportunities to move up. Aguirre was soon promoted to a lead position, where he was responsible for doing data entry and had more communication with his managers. He says taking on those extra duties helped prepare him for a supervisor job later on.“ I wasn’ t sure I’ d be considered for it because I only have a high school diploma. But when I applied, I remember my manager’ s words, he said,‘ it’ s about time.’ They recognize potential here, and if you’ re interested in growing you’ ll be noticed. There are opportunities to grow here straight out of high school.”
