Today’ s parents are professionals. We are actively involved in our children’ s lives. We strive to get the best for our family. Yet, we are insecure and sceptical in our parenting approach compared to our own parents.
Information overload or access to too much information may be the reason for our plight. As we try to keep up with our image of an‘ ideal’ parent, the image is continuously altered with every new piece of information released( that is, all the time).
The 3‘ M’ s- Money, Mind and Media are shaping the‘ aims’ of modern day parenting in a way we cannot imagine.
AIM aims to provide practical insights on the themes defining today’ s culture, influencing parenting, one topic at a time.
In this debut issue of AIM, Explore an overload that our resource-rich children are facing. Choice overload or too much choice may be causing children to become or appear grumpy and confused.
Reflect on select news and happenings on Money, Mind and Media, that may provide good starting points for discussions with children on some important but not-so-comfortable topics.
Finally, AIM is as much yours as it is ours. Connect with us with your views, your stories, challenges and achievements to enrich AIM. In this issue, I share my family’ s story about volunteering at an experimental school in rural India.
I hope that you will find AIM a useful starting point in your discovery for the best for your family.
