Orange
France Telecom-Orange is one of the world’s leading telecommunications . It is an innovative and friendly brand in Armenia and within the short period of operation has leaded a range of innovations in the country. Orange wishes to make the world innovations accessible to the largest part of the Armenian population. The company created Orange Armenia Foundation in 2011 which activities cover mainly healthcare and education. The Orange Foundation deals with purely philanthropic projects, so computer rooms/internet support are not considered part of its work.
And one of the projects of Orange Armenia Foundation was a program for Employee-Led Projects intended for all Orange enterprise employees. It was for ones with a good idea for a project and who had volunteered or worked for an NGO that can implement that idea.
The objectives of the program were:
• to support active Orange Armenia employees who are already realizing or want to realize activities for the benefit of society
• to increase the employees awareness of philanthropy, donation, activities for the benefit of public
• by means of initiatives and activities of employees to contribute to enhancement of quality of life of various target groups
The most important thing was that the applicant needed to be able to participate is a project idea and implementation. The Orange Foundation couldn’t provide funding to an individual, so we will need a Partner NGO who can implement the idea with your coordination. Ideally, this will be an NGO where you may have spent some time volunteering or working and with which you are familiar. It was important to feel comfortable with the NGO, because applicant was supposed to be the interface between the Orange Foundation and the Partner and for the project’s success.
And of course we, AIESECers were these people with creative ideas. We couldn’t miss this great opportunity and began to act immediately. The program was exactly for us…we knew that…we just needed to put everything together and make the first step to success...
