IN SERVICE TO THEIR NATION

An Epic Book Describes One Marine ’ s War With Cancer – And His Victory By Connie Conway , with David “ T-Bone ” Trombly

USMC LtCOL David “ T-Bone ” Trombly retired in June 2019 , after serving our nation for 25 years . The never-quit mentality required in an F / A-18 Hornet pilot , which Marines take great pride in possessing , stayed with him .
Even so , life took a grave turn for this Marine in year 2000 , when a health examination yielded the diagnosis that he had terminal cancer . Trombly was in the prime of his career , but now his mission had to be changed .
He needed to fight a different war . HOPE … GONE ?
T-Bone received the news that he had primary lymphoma of bone along with the revelation that there had never been a fiveyear survivor who had received conventional treatments . So said his doctors , anyway .
Reeling yet somehow armed with this information , T-Bone and Megan , his wife , blitzed through research on alternative biological medical treatments . After all , this was a battle for his life ! And for T-Bone , life included his family and the military career he loved .
T-Bone and Megan drew on their fighting spirit as they pioneered ground-breaking holistic and alternative-medical strategies . And they possessed something even more powerful : a peace that passes all understanding . It undergirded their strength , helped them withstand the traumatic battle they fought .
In time , the couple found that this peace , coupled with their life experiences and Godgiven discipline , yielded an education that could benefit others . THE SHAPING OF VICTORY
Since the first report , in 2001 , of David ’ s cancer-free status , the Trombly ’ s have encouraged hundreds of families who are caught in battles with cancer . Their message is one of faith ’ s persistence and the warrior spirit .
“ Deep valleys exist , and towering giants are real ,” says T-Bone . “ In life , everyone is destined to come across one or both of these , which will

Through his book , which is extensively documented , the writer seeks to inform the reader that devastating personal health crises such as his own can be attacked with a warrior spirit , defined as a high level of personal responsibility coupled with unshakable faith . “ We all seek to thrive ,” he says . “ The tipping point when we start to do that comes when we realize that myriad illnesses can be prevented or dealt with through education , personal responsibility , and faith – all seamlessly woven into a healthy lifestyle .”
A published author and sought-after motivational speaker – not to mention keen supporter of AHERO – T-Bone enjoys serving as chaplain for Pensacola ’ s professional hockey team , the Pensacola Ice Flyers . He also serves as the chaplain for both the Cpl J . R . Spears Detachment 066 of the Marine Corps League and the newly formed Gold Star and Surviving Families CONNECT organizations .
T-bone and Megan have six children and live in the Cantonment , Florida , area . His extraordinary book , “ GROUNDED AND CURED , A Fighter Pilot ’ s Inspirational Story of Miraculous Healing and Return to Flying ,” is available on Amazon and is listed on Goodreads . com .
