ALL IN 4AHERO

AN “ ALL IN 4AHERO ” SATURDAY NIGHT Members of Music4AHERO and Riding4AHERO joined over twenty Veterans and countless volunteers for an amazing dinner . There were four other charity events taking place Saturday , dispersing some riders , but approximately forty members of riding clubs were present .
Don Rodgers , owner of H & D Cycles in Lillian , Ala ., was there with his pride-and-joy beauty of a bike . And later , when the riders came together and donated $ 500 to AHERO , Don matched that with his own H & D Cycles donation of $ 500 !
One thing you can say , count on , take to the bank – choose your idiom – is : Riders love their country , honor and support our Vets , and ALWAYS honor the guys and gals still in uniform . Good people , beautiful surroundings , great food . . . And oh my word , the food ! It was all a delight . As we relaxed and chatted , did yoga , watched and listened to terrific artists doing what they do best – whatever we did ( or ate !) at Heron Point , Art Favre ’ s exquisite Wharf at Orange Beach had personnel in place to show us total top-notch hospitality . We feasted and enjoyed ourselves in Southern-style grace and comfort food while the wonderful Billy Whittington , project assistant at the Point , went above and beyond in making sure everything was set up and as it should be .
Volunteer Tamar Doull ' s infectious grin and helpful ways added sunshine to the day 68 AHERO MAGAZINE SUMMER 2021
