When Lee Stuckey initiated his program of honoring individual military heroes by naming each hunting field at AHERO Farm after the person chosen , he began with a ceremony for Marine LCPL Jason Barfield , KIA . Jason ’ s family members were present to see the beautifully sketched portrait of their son mounted in its permanent location on a specially selected tree in his field . Here below is a letter from the Barfield family telling Jason ’ s story and thanking the AHERO community for memorializing the son they love in this meaningful way . ~ the editors
