Before a trio of Accenture’s department heads, each team presented their recommendations regarding managing the network of Supply and Demand for one of Accenture’s largest energy retail clients. I had designed the competition. We had three teams in the finals. There should have been no question that AGSM would leave as winners and yet, I looked on in horror as another school was awarded first place. Thankfully 2016 saw PwC come to their senses and the 3rd Annual Inter-University Case Competition was scheduled for July. Leaving the PwC offices without a trophy for AGSM was non-negotiable. The case this year focused on the growth objectives of Teach For Australia (TFA), a pro bono client of PwC’s they are working with as part of their commitment to addressing the STEM education issue in Australia. Again, participants from Sydney’s leading MBA programs worked tirelessly over three weeks to submit their entries and then assembled at the PwC offices to hear who had made it to the finals. Drawing the announcement out, to build the suspense, it was finally declared there would be six teams going through to the finals this year and that four of the six would be from AGSM!! the outcome… The
