Making an impact
in today’s accelerated
world of work
I’m delighted to introduce the
AGSM @ UNSW Business School’s
first pre-experience program – the
AGSM Master of Management.
The new program extends our
portfolio of offerings to now cover
pre-experience young professionals
who are just starting their careers,
through experienced managers
completing an MBA and accelerating
their careers, to senior leaders
undertaking executive education
to enhance their leadership skills.
The AGSM Master of Management
is predominantly designed for
recent graduates from non-
business degrees who are
seeking the ‘business ready’
skills and experience required at
the start of their careers. Today’s
organisations are increasingly
looking for broad skillsets
when hiring young professionals,
particularly those skills from STEAM
(science, technology, engineering,
arts and mathematics) backgrounds.
And with the rapid pace of change,
leaders have less time to invest in
training new hires as they adapt
to their first role. They need people
who understand the fundamentals
of business and can hit the
ground running.
The new AGSM two-year part-time
program will be delivered after
hours in the Sydney CBD, offering
students the flexibility to work while
they study. We will offer intensive,
face-to-face classes combined
with online coursework designed
to set young professionals up
for a successful career, learning
from internationally recognised
faculty with industry experience
and gaining management insights
from current business leaders. There
is also a unique careers component
focused on work-integrated learning
and direct interaction with some of
Australia’s leading organisations.
