I

have a ton of old jeans lying around the house.
Although they are unwearable, I can never bring
myself to actually throw them out, convinced that
I will find some new use for them. I have an entire pack in my bedroom cupboard waiting for a second chance at life.
After quite a bit of research, I found that there are a
million and one uses for old jeans. From jewellery,
aprons, handbags… you name it! It can almost surely
be made with old denim.
With so many ideas to share I decided to pick one of
my favourites – storage boxes made from old jeans!
These are so quick and easy to create and they can be
used for all kinds of storage. I am always looking for
new ideas to spice up my table settings at home, and
this is the perfect way to display napkins at the dinner
table.
You will need:
Old denims (you will only be using the bottom half of
the jeans, so keep the rest for future DIYs. Also don’t
worry about stains and marks, these give the made
items even more character)
Scissors
Needle and Thread
Inner Lining (optional)
Step 1
Grab your old jeans and cut off the legs (about 30cm
long). The longer the piece, the higher your storage
box will be.
Step 2
Turn the cut pieces inside out and sew a straight stitch
along the bottom of the cut ends. Fold down the corners into triangles and sew these too as shown in the
pictures.
