Is milkfat good or bad for your health? Ingrid Tsoeu Researcher in Dairy Science and Technology, ARC- Irene T he bad press surrounding saturated fat often harmed the reputation of milk products. However, recent scientific evidence indicates that the saturated fat found in milk products may not be detrimental to health. It is acknowledged that the overall food matrix, including other nutrients influences how food affect cardiovascular health. Milk and dairy products provide a whole package of nutrients and the effect of dairy foods on cardiovascular health be inclined by the entirety of nutrients present rather than simply by its fat content.
