Now’s the time to pretty up your
pots before you get inundated with

colourful, with a touch of tradition,
so red and white Pelargoniums are
a sure-fire winner. English-speakers
also call them ‘Geraniums’ and Afrikaners know them by the delicioussounding name ‘Malva’. There are

But there’s still time to ensure that
your garden looks as festive as your
home when the December holidays
come around. Let’s get to work!
Country style Euryops, Felicia, Cineraria saxifraga,
Tecoma
only a couple of things you need to
know: there are bush and trailing
varieties. The trailing plants all have
ivy-like leaves, and the bush varieties have rounded or frilly leaves,
often with pretty markings. Use
them in full sun or strong, indirect
light, and don’t overwater!
Big pots and window boxes lend
themselves well to a bit of mixing
and matching, and if you’re looking
for a filler plant, you can’t go
